I love mistletoe. Not only is it such a beautiful branch with it's long and perfectly shapes leaves adorned with white berries that resemble pearls, but it is also the idea of what the mistletoe represents that I love. It stands for the romantic notion that every time two people stand beneath it at the same time, they must kiss. Little made up rituals and "rules" like this are something that I love because it encourages us to stop for a minute and actually do something spontaneous and magical. To actually stop when you are in the middle of the holiday stress and hustle and bustle, going from one place to another, and actually look at the person standing next to you and share a kiss. I have never had a kiss under the mistletoe, but it is something that I dream of and hope that I get to do one day. Honestly, is there anything more Christmasy and romantic? A girl can dream.
